Leanne Bambridge Charity Golf Day 2026

Last Friday’s Leanne Bambridge Memorial Charity Day once again stood as one of the most important days on the Drouin Golf and Country Club calendar. More than just a successful golf event, the day focused on honouring Leanne’s memory and recognising the enormous contribution the Bambridge family has made to our club.

Members, sponsors and the wider community came together with a shared purpose. The day celebrated connection, generosity and remembrance while supporting a cause that impacts so many families.

Over $10,000 Raised for the Leukaemia Foundation

Thanks to the incredible support of everyone involved, the event will again raise more than $10,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation, with final auction items still being completed.

Team entries, sponsorships, raffles, on-course activities and a vibrant silent auction drove fundraising throughout the day. The generosity shown across the course and in the clubhouse demonstrated the strength of our club community.

74 Teams Take to the Course

A total of 74 teams competed in a Three-Person Ambrose format under outstanding weather conditions. The course presented beautifully and players embraced the spirit of the day.

Lucas Towns, Michael Santo and Wayne Farnham claimed victory with a superb nett score of 56.33. Jonathan Miron, Benjamin Miron and Matthew Miron finished second on 56.66, while Chris Perry, Ben Clements and Benjamin Huggett secured third place with 56.80.

Corey Thomson, Paula Fowler and Nathan Thomson won the Best Mixed Team with 59.33. Glenda Warren, Leanne Pollard and Wendy Hitchins took out Best Women’s Team honours with 65.

Luke Smith (5th), Ben Smith (8th), Simon McLennan (10th) and Mark Allen (14th) each claimed Nearest the Pin prizes. Jes Ploeger and Tom Bolst drove the longest balls on the sixth hole in the women’s and men’s divisions respectively.

This year’s event carried a genuine energy from start to finish. The extended field created strong momentum across the course and inside the clubhouse.

Dan Nobellious delivered live entertainment that added to the atmosphere. Players enjoyed chicken wings on the 5th tee, while a coffee van and egg and bacon muffins ensured the day began on the right note. The silent auction generated strong interest and friendly competition throughout the afternoon.

The combination of perfect weather, strong participation and thoughtful additions made this one of the most enjoyable editions of the event to date.
